World Cup Crowd Control

The World Cup kicked off nearly a week ago, ensuring safe and effective crowd control is still very much at the forefront of the minds of FIFA officials. “We are working tirelessly to ensure this is one of the best tournaments that FIFA has hosted. We want people to come and enjoy themselves, secure in the knowledge that we will do the policing,” said Vishnu Naidoo, spokesman for the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Recently, due to a lack of appropriate crowd control, what was to be a friendly free match between Nigeria & North Korea, left 16 people injured. Many believe that better security measures, such as the addition of crowd control posts, could have prevented this unfortunate incident.
